The analyst based his prediction on the previous movement of the bitcoin exchange rate after previous halving of the reward to miners. Historically, bitcoin peaked 40-80 weeks after the halving, the analyst said.

The 2024 halving should follow this pattern, with bitcoin reaching higher levels as early as January 2025, Swenson believes. This period is not only in line with BTC's historical performance, but also coincides with the month of the US presidential inauguration after the November election. According to the analyst, this is an important coincidence that will reflect well on the bitcoin exchange rate.

Bitcoin may also exceed expectations. The market may well experience significant growth before January 2025, so strong volatility should not be ruled out in the coming months, the analyst warned. If bitcoin trades sideways for an extended period, the first cryptocurrency will only peak after January.

Earlier, analysts at cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex suggested that after the halving, demand for bitcoin will exceed supply five times, as the daily volume of coin issuance began to decline. According to the forecasts of experts at Pantera Capital, by July 2025, the bitcoin rate will rise to $150,000.
